There is a party going on in the blogging world. 5 Minutes for Mom is hosting the Ultimate Blog Party 2010! The point is to “meet” other bloggers, get yourself out there and party. There are tons of giveaways involved and lots of great writers to meet. I am supposed to write some sort of “intro” about me and this blog and then link up for the Blog Party.
So here we go.
My shoes, tell my story…and so do yours! I think everyone has a shoe story and by that I mean tough times they have been through, struggles in life and things that you just plain ask “why me?. We don’t always get to choose our shoes in life but we certainly need to learn to walk in them.
I aim to bring my readers perspective changing moments through inspiration and simplicity. I believe that keeping things in perspective and living simply will assist you in adapting to your shoes of life.

As my introduction I want to share some random facts about me so you can get to know me better! Welcome to the 2010 Ultimate Blog Party!
1. I was born in Kentucky – sadly my family lived in West Virginia and the “better” hospital was in Kentucky…
2. I have always wanted a big family but came from a family of 4.
3. I am extremely impatient and really can’t stand waiting.
4. I am a professional errand runner and take great pride in that skill.
5. I have always loved public speaking. In school I used to volunteer to go first for oral reports and speeches.
6. I love sweets – in almost every variety.
7. I am the world’s best sleeper. Nothing keeps me up at night – not TV, not stress, nothing. (I do realize what a blessing that is)
8. I have A.D.D. when it comes to working out. After 10 minutes of any activity I am BORED…strange however when I aknowledge that I have run 2 full marathons.
9. I wish I could describe myself as spontaneous and unpredictable but I am exactly opposite of those words.
10. Insects, rodents and snakes freak me out.
11. I don’t know how to “clear my mind” – especially since I started blogging it feels like my brain doesn’t shut off very often.
12. I am a “to-do list” addict. Can’t get anything done unless it is on my list and I can cross it off.
13. I loved being pregnant (but am done having kids – 3 is enough for me).
14. If I could wear flip flops year round I would. I live in Colorado so that is really not an option.
15. I am a good baker but only a marginal cook – I am getting better though.
16. I love organization – really I love the tools one uses to organize more than the act of organization itself.
17. I don’t know what I want to be when I “grow up” but I know what I don’t want to be.
18. Throwing up is my worst nightmare. I fear the stomach flu. Even writing that makes me nervous.
19. I believe “everything in moderation” – from food to money you really can’t go wrong with this motto.
20. My husband and I compliment each other. We are very different but in good ways.
21. I almost always cry when I watch Brother’s and Sisters on ABC. (must be that desire to have a big family that gets me)
22. I love to dance but don’t have a stitch of rhythm and I do let it hold me back.
23. Perspective and prayer give me strength.
24. Photography = bliss (I only wish I could take some classes)
25. I love that I look like my mom. She was the most selfless, giving person I have ever known.

WOW Catherine I never knew how much alike we are!! 4,6,8,9,10,12,14,15,16,21 and 25 describe me PERFECTLY as well!!!!
__Thanks for sharing. Here are a few more random facts about me…__1. I HATE winter and would prefer to hibernate like a bear until the sun comes out with warm weather. __2. I have always had a huge phobia of flying…but am getting better. It used to be so bad I would actually not go on vacation with my family growing up. I am very claustraphobic, which is why I can't stand to be enclosed in an airplane with no way to "pull over and get out!" However I do not let it stop me from seeing the world now. __3. I have lived in 5 different states…New Mexico, Nevada, Montana, Massachusetts, and Colorado. Colorado is by far my favorite!__4. I love kids

Your family is beautiful!
Random facts- 1) I am married to a Chinese man and can't stand Chinese food. So I usually actually manage to lose weight over Christmas when we spend time with his family
2) I'm fairly certain that I haven't had a full night's sleep in about 3 years, but I manage to be more or less functional anyway. Which never ceases to amaze me.
3) I have a fear of the suburbs and start twitching every time someone suggests that we might want to move out of the city so that our kids have a yard. This is mostly because I also fear all things related to nature and the outdoors. Oh, and I live in Seattle, where 99% of the people spend their time hiking or kayaking or camping or doing something like that. So I'm a bit unusual.
That's all I have time for, as my toddler is making suspicious crashing noises in the other room

Hi Catherine! Loved hearing the "little" things about you! Here are some you may not know about me
1. I am really, really afraid of heights. I got to face that fear a lot when I watched your kids! I also tried to get over it by learning how to walk and dance on stilts! I learned but it didn't take the fear away!
2. I shave everything every single day.
3. I am the messiest anal person.
4. I like to make order out of chaos and it's a high priority for me.
5. My husband and you really taught me about perspective. Now I shift all negatives into a positive.
6. I love outsmarting kids "tactics".
7. I have to write everything down or I'll forget.

Love this post! Except for #1, #8, and #21 we are so much alike. I mean every other statement you wrote describes me!
Some random facts about me:
1. I LOVE to travel and introduce my kids to new places.
2. I love water sports. I miss boating and being near the ocean so much.
3. I love being a mom more than anything, but always worry that I am "goofing it up". LOL
4. I would love to lose 20lbs, but haven't found the strength to do it.
I share your site wtih everyone I know because I really like the shoe concept and of course you. Everyone is going through something and our shoes are always changing!

OMG. #18? I'm nervous just READING that. Seriously. Ugh. Oh – and I've also run two full marathons!
Um..random facts?
1. I am blind as a bat. Seriously. If I take my contacts out and my glasses aren't sitting right there I fumble and feel around, totally lost.
2. I moved five times- including across the country – in seven years pursuing my career.
3. I have some sort of weird texture issue so I don't eat much fruit. Apples totally make me gag.

1. Graduated highschool at 15.
2. Went to Bible School.
3. Got "sorta" kicked out of semi bible school for kissing a boy
4. Got engaged to said boy at 16.
5. Didn't marry him.
6. Been engaged twice now. Married once. Still. Happily.
7. Used to be afraid of mustard. Now like dijon but the bright yellow still frightens me.

What a great description of yourself. I love the ADD when it comes to working out but you have run 2 marathons. I am doing the Susan G Komen 60 mile walk in August and I am not sure how I am going to get my rear in gear to get prepared for that
